Learn more about this collection
Our women's Latin dance shoes suit salsa and bachata as well as competition Latin dances: cha-cha-cha, rumba, samba, jive and paso doble. More than 170 models: strappy sandals, closed shoes and ankle boots, all with a dance sole.
Sandal, closed shoe or ankle boot
- The strappy sandal is the most common: light, it lets the toes work in extensions and turns.
- The closed shoe holds the whole foot: it suits sensitive or easily chilled feet, and those who like more enveloping support.
- The ankle boot gives a more distinctive look, appreciated in showcases and group performances.
Heel height: party or competition
In this selection, the most common height is 7.5 cm, ahead of 6 cm, 7 cm, 9 cm and 5.5 cm. Practice models go down to 3.5 cm.
- Classes and parties: 5 to 7 cm, flared heel for stability.
- Competition and showcase: Latin dancers often wear a taller flared heel, around 7.5 to 9 cm, once their balance is solid.
- Long rehearsals: a low-heel practice model spares the calves.
Materials and colors
Satin, suede-look material, leather, glitter or rhinestones. Black is the most common color, followed by red, brown, silver, flesh tone and gold. In competition, many dancers choose a color close to skin tone to extend the line of the leg.
Sizes
Most models range from 34 to 41 or 42, some from 33 to 43, and about thirty come in half sizes.
Frequently asked questions
What heel height to start Latin dancing?
Between 5 and 7 cm: enough for posture, without losing balance. A flared heel is more forgiving than a thin one.
How do I care for the sole?
Brush it with a sole brush after every session to lift the fibers, and never wear them outside. Our guide: which shoe for salsa, bachata and kizomba.
