Learn more about this collection

Our women's and men's ballroom dance shoes cover both families of ballroom dancing: closed, stable models for the waltz, foxtrot, quickstep and ballroom tango, and strappy sandals for Latin dances (cha-cha, rumba, samba, salsa). All of them have a dance sole that glides across the floor.

How to choose your ballroom dance shoes

  • For women: a closed court shoe with a 5 to 7 cm heel to start with.
  • For men: a lace-up shoe with a low heel, in leather or patent.
  • The sole: suede, for the gliding movements of the standard dances.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between ballroom and Latin dance shoes?

In ballroom dancing (waltz, foxtrot, quickstep), women wear a closed court shoe that holds the foot during gliding movements. In Latin dancing, you usually wear a more flexible open strappy sandal, which lets you work the ball of the foot.

What heel height should I start with in ballroom dancing?

For a woman, a 5 to 6 cm heel is the easiest to start with. For a man, the heel stays low, around 2.5 cm. See our guide high or flat heel.

Do I need a special sole?
