Looking for ballroom dance shoes for women? Our women's ballroom shoes cover both families of ballroom dance: standard dances (waltz, Viennese waltz, ballroom tango, slow fox, quickstep) and Latin dances taught in the same classes (cha-cha-cha, rumba, samba, paso doble, rock).
Closed-toe pump or open sandal
- For standard dances: a closed-toe pump that is stable and holds the foot during gliding movements and backward steps on the heel.
- For Latin dances: a lighter strappy sandal that allows the ball of the foot to work.
- For a single class that combines both: start with the dance you practice most, or with a closed-toe model with a medium heel.
Heel height
In this selection, the most common heel heights are 7.5 cm, 5 cm, and 6 cm, and many models are available in two heights. To start, aim for 5 to 6 cm: your weight will remain evenly distributed between the ball of your foot and your heel. You can then go higher if you wish. For comfort, we also have models with 2.5 and 3.5 cm heels.
Our guide: high or flat heels in ballroom dancing, and choosing your first pair of ballroom dance shoes.
Satin, leather, or suede look
Satin is the most common material here: lightweight and elegant, it is suitable for balls and evening events. Leather is more durable and molds to the foot. Colors range from black and brown, which are very easy to wear, to champagne, silver, and white for ballroom outfits. Our comparison: nappa, satin, or patent leather.
Sizes
Most models are available in sizes 34 to 41 or 42. A dance pump should be chosen as a snug fit, with no space at the heel: it will stretch slightly while dancing.

Frequently asked questions
What heel height should I choose for ballroom dancing?
To start, a medium heel is the best compromise between stability and elegance. Higher heels suit you once your balance is secure.
Why a suede sole?
Suede grips just enough to pivot without slipping on a wooden floor. Do not wear them outdoors, to protect the sole.
How do I choose my size in ballroom dance shoes for women?
Measure your foot in cm and compare it with the size chart on the product page. Your first size exchange is free if needed.
