Learn more about this collection

Our women's salsa shoes are strappy sandals and a few ankle boots, with a dance sole that lets you turn on the ball of the foot. More than 120 models, in satin, suede-look material, glitter or rhinestones, for Cuban salsa, Puerto Rican salsa and bachata.

Which heel height to choose

The most common heights in this selection are 6 cm, 7 cm and 7.5 cm. Many models come in two heights, for example 5 or 7 cm.

  • First classes: 5 to 6 cm, flared heel, ankle strap.
  • Regular dancer: 7 to 7.5 cm, the most common height for parties.
  • Dancer comfortable in heels: 8.5 to 9 cm, thinner heel, for a lengthened leg line.
  • Practice and long nights: 3.5 cm, with our practice shoes.

Straps, materials and colors

  • Straps: an ankle strap holds the heel in turns. Straps crossed over the instep stop the forefoot from sliding.
  • Materials: satin is light and dressy, suede-look is more discreet, glitter and rhinestones are made for the stage and parties.
  • Colors: black dominates, followed by red, brown, silver and gold. The flesh tone blends with the leg.

Sizes

Most models range from 34 to 41 or 42. Some start at 33 or go up to 43, and about twenty come in half sizes. A dance sandal is worn snug: the heel should not stick out past the sole, and the toes should not overhang.

Frequently asked questions

Thin heel or flared heel for salsa?

The flared heel gives more floor contact, so more stability: it is the right choice to start with. The thin heel comes later, once your balance on the ball of the foot is established.

The same pair for salsa and bachata?

Yes in most cases: a strappy sandal with a dance sole suits both. The differences are explained in our guide salsa or bachata: which shoe.

Can you walk outside in them?

No. The dance sole wears down on asphalt and picks up grit that marks the floor. Change shoes on site.
