Learn more about this collection
Our dance shoes for wide feet include styles that accommodate a wide forefoot: flexible materials that mold to the foot and adjustable fastening with buckles, laces or elastic. Around forty styles for salsa, Latin dancing, ballroom dancing, tango and classical dance.
What matters when you have wide feet
- Flexible materials: satin, canvas and soft leather stretch slightly as you dance. Here, satin is the most common material.
- Adjustable fastening: a buckle or laces hold the foot in place without compressing it.
- Open sandals: without a closed toe, the toes have room to spread and support the foot.
- The right heel height: with a lower heel, less weight is placed on the forefoot. Heel heights here range from 2 cm to 10 cm, and many styles are available in two heights.
Wide feet, hallux valgus or sensitive feet
Wide feet are not necessarily painful. If you have a bunion (hallux valgus) or a sensitive forefoot, also see our hallux valgus selection and our guide to sensitive feet. For flat feet, read which dance shoes are best for flat feet.
Sizes
Most styles start at size 34 or 35 and go up to 41, 42 or 43. Our canvas classical dance shoes are also available in children's sizes. For wide feet, the best approach is to give us both the length AND the width of your foot, measured in centimetres: we will tell you if the style is suitable. For large sizes, see our large-size dance shoes guide.
Frequently asked questions
Should you choose a larger size if you have wide feet?
Not necessarily: a shoe that is too long causes the foot to slide and throw off your balance when turning. It is better to stick to your usual size and choose a flexible material and adjustable fastening. If in doubt, write to us with your measurements.
How do you measure the width of your foot?
Standing barefoot, place your foot on a piece of paper and measure the widest part of the forefoot, at the base of the toes. Our guide: which size to choose.
Unsure about the size? Measure the length of your foot in centimetres and write to us at contact@dansezo.fr: we will advise you on the right size for the style you have chosen. See also our size guide.
