The first dance is your first dance as newlyweds, before the eyes of all your guests. You need a shoe that is stable enough to turn without thinking about it, elegant enough to complement the dress, and comfortable enough to keep dancing all evening.
How we selected these styles
- A moderate heel. Each style is available with a heel height of 3 to 6.5 cm. A 5 cm heel is a good compromise between elegance and stability; a small 3 to 4.5 cm heel is the most stable and remains elegant if you don't dance much in heels.
- Light colours. Each style is available in at least one light colour: white, nude, beige, champagne, silver or gold.
- Good support. Ankle strap, crossed straps, laces, elastic or Velcro, depending on the style: the shoe stays in place while you turn.
- A sole suited to the dance floor. Suede, leather, flexible or rubber, depending on the style: the material is indicated on each product page. Suede glides well on parquet but should not be worn outdoors, while rubber provides more grip on slippery floors.
Our advice before the big day
First, try your shoes on at home on a clean floor: as long as you are unsure, you can return them within 30 days. Once you have made your choice, bring them to your dress fittings (the heel height helps determine the length), wear them for a little while each day at home and practice your first dance in them. Everything is explained in our guides:
- Shoes for the first dance: how to choose them
- Comfortable bridal shoes: dancing without foot pain

Still unsure? Take our "Which dance shoes should I choose?" quiz and select "Wedding first dance", or browse all our shoes for dancing at your wedding, including higher heels.
Free delivery on orders over €50, 10% off and free delivery on two or more pairs (ideal for one pair for the ceremony and another for the evening), 30-day returns.
