Learn more about this collection

Our women's salsa shoes include strappy sandals and a few ankle boots, all with dance soles that allow you to spin on the ball of your foot. More than 120 styles are available in satin, suede-effect, glitter, or rhinestone finishes for Cuban salsa, Puerto Rican salsa, and bachata.

Choosing the right heel height

The most common heel heights in this selection are 6 cm, 7 cm, and 7.5 cm. Many styles are available in two heights, such as 5 or 7 cm.

  • First classes: 5 to 6 cm, with a flared heel and ankle strap.
  • Regular dancer: 7 to 7.5 cm, the most common height for evening dancing.
  • Comfortable in heels: 8.5 to 9 cm, with a slimmer heel for an elongated leg line.
  • Training and long evenings: 3.5 cm, with our training shoes.

Straps, materials, and colors

  • Straps: an ankle strap keeps your heel securely in place. Crossed straps across the instep prevent the ball of your foot from slipping.
  • Materials: satin is lightweight and elegant, suede-effect is more understated, while glitter and rhinestones are designed for the stage and evening dancing.
  • Colors: black is the most popular, followed by red, brown, silver, and gold. Nude colors blend in with your leg.

Sizes

Most styles are available in sizes 34 to 41 or 42. Some start at 33 or go up to 43, and about twenty are available in half sizes. Dance sandals should fit snugly: your heel should not hang over the sole, and your toes should not peek out.

Frequently asked questions

Slim heel or flared heel for salsa?

A flared heel provides more surface area on the floor and therefore more stability, making it the right choice for beginners. Slim heels come next, once you have mastered balancing on the ball of your foot.

The same pair for salsa and bachata?

Yes, in most cases: a strappy sandal with a dance sole is suitable for both. The differences are explained in our guide salsa or bachata: which shoes to choose.

Can I wear them outside?

No. Dance soles are damaged by asphalt and pick up gravel that can mark parquet flooring. Change your shoes before entering.
